Quiero ir a Burning Man 2007
Estoy leyendo sobre el festival Burning Man. Lamentablemente es ahora entre el 28 de Agosto y el 5 de Septiembre, en el desierto de Nevada, cerca de Las Vegas.
Por esas fechas estaré en Buenos Aires, pero me encantaría ir el próximo año. Me lo pondré como objectivo.
Es bastante dificil describirlo. En la propia web dicen que es tan dificil como explicarle a un ciego un color. Básicamente es un festival dónde lo único que puedes comprar con dinero es café y hielo. Van miles y miles de personas y a diferencia de Woodstock, la gran escencia de “Burning Man” es que es bastante más ecológico.
Además Burning Man no es solo un festival. Es una ciudad entera que se monta durante esos días, con las cosas que la gente lleva, principalmente arte de todo tipo y comida. Una ciudad que se monta y luego desaparece “without leaving anything behind”.
There are no rules about how one must behave or express oneself at this event (save the rules that serve to protect the health, safety, and experience of the community at large); rather, it is up to each participant to decide how they will contribute and what they will give to this community. The event takes place on an ancient lakebed, known as the playa. By the time the event is completed and the volunteers leave, sometimes nearly a month after the event has ended, there will be no trace of the city that was, for a short time, the most populous town in the entire county.
El creador del proyecto es Larry Harvey, quien lo fundó en una playa allá por 1986.
